The Velvet Corner at Sampaguita
Breanne Marie from Breanne Marie & The Front Porch Sinners will be doing a solo show in the Velvet Corner at 2pm. This is a great opportunity to have a late lunch and come join us to hear Breanne preform an acoustical set for our Velvet Corner debut. Bring your lunch and come join us Wednesday, June 18th. We are open at 10am this day so come anytime you want and grab a table. Music at 2pm.

Then for a later dinner show, Papa Jim will be gracing the corner at 6pm to play "unplugged" (well the keyboards will be plugged in but that is it). Jim "Papa" Matteson is an Atikin local that has graced stages and corners all throughout the country and we are excited to have him preform an intimate keyboard show.
These are free shows and donations accepted. All proceeds from Velvet Corner shows will go to local Aitkin interests.

We allow outside food/drink so pick something up from any of the fantastic local food joint nearby and come on in and enjoy an afternoon/evening with us. All ages!
Sampaguita presents “The Velvet Corner”. This is a new series we will be hosting “unplugged” off stage acoustic music in the front corner surrounded by our beautiful fauna and mid century velvet paintings. These performances will be solo/duo acts that for the most part be unplugged and intimate afternoon, weekday, presentations. These will be free, donations accepted, and all proceeds will go to local Aitkin interests.

Breanne Marie & The Front Porch Sinners: Deliver high-energy American country jams and soulfully sentimental ballads. Whether winding through creative sonic landscapes or laying down toe-tapping bluegrass, their heartfelt lyrics and songwriting aim to warm even the coldest nights.
Mara Lovejoy: Mara Lovejoy plays a sweet and cathartic blend of glammy, broody, punky, earthy rock and roll. Her music engages with a scrappy drama, with lyrics that clash perennial optimism against existential dread. It is fun, ferocious, heartfelt, communal, and present.

2025 is our 10th Anniversary of Concerts on the Pier, and we are celebrating by looking back at the past 9 years!
The event is free and open to the public from 5 to 8 pm. Gates open at 5 pm, however, for those interested, early access can be obtained by purchasing grounds admission or a tour. Each night, the opener will perform from 5:30-6 pm and the headliner will play from 6:30-8 pm.
At Concerts, guests can connect with neighbors and friends, play lawn games, grab some grub from a local food truck, enjoy a refreshing drink, eat locally-made ice cream, and take a seat by the shores of Lake Superior. Guests are encouraged to paddle or boat in to view the concert from the water or are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show from the shore.
For each concert this year, Glensheen will also offer a free shuttle bus (with a suggested donation) between the UMD campus and Glensheen. Parking at UMD is free. More information can be found at https://glensheen.org/concerts/event-information/.

Ukraine Benefit
Join us live in person as more than 15 Northland artists perform in a special benefit concert for war relief in Ukraine.
Concert organizer and performer Paul Metsa will host the event beginning at 7 pm Wednesday, May 14. All proceeds will be donated to the Nova Ukraine.
This concert will also be livestreamed on the Sacred Heart Music Center YouTube channel by Two Harbors Media.
Artists scheduled to appear include: Mark & Nancy Rubin, Erin Aldridge, Christopher David Hanson, John Ward and Lori Hatten, Whiskey River, Tim Martin, Breanne Marie Tepler, Sonja Martin, The Climes, George Ellsworth, Duluth-Superior Harbormasters, Liesel Wilson and The Mahon Brothers.
“I’ve lined up an incredible array of talent playing in a variety of styles including classical, blues, folk, jazz, and even a 10-piece barber shop singing group! All musicians, including myself, are donating their time,” said Metsa. “While our democracy here in the states is under threat, I believe it is important to support a country that is valiantly fighting for its own democracy and sovereignty. Let their bravery and valor be a guiding light for us all.”

The Homegrown Music Festival’s annual Children’s Music Showcase will be at the Lake Superior Zoo this year on Sunday, April 27th. This is a free event. Live music and more, bring the whole family!
Two T’s in a Pod in the Primate Conservation Center at 11 am:
Breanne and Anya Tepler are a mother/daughter duo who perform charming children’s songs, pop covers and originals on guitar and piano. Their sound is unadorned, letting their personable vocals shine through. Two T’s in a Pod’s 2023 single “It’s Time to Go to Bentleyville” is played each year at Bayfront on the Bentleyville playlist, and the duo has performed the song at FinnFest, on Two Harbors Community Radio’s Beat Farm program and during a Christmas show at Northern Waters Smokehaus.

Coffeehouse
This is a weekly music series at The College of St. Scholastica. Located in Storm’s Den, students enjoy a chill vibe atmosphere to do their homework and gather with friends.

Jillian Rae and Breanne Marie & The Front Porch Sinners
Raised in Minnesota’s Iron Range, Minneapolis rocker Jillian Rae brings her band back to the northland performing an exciting double-bill with one of Duluth’s top Americana artists Breanne Marie & The Front Porch Sinners.
This one-time only show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 4.
Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jillian Rae has become known for her soaring pop orchestrations and performs a genre-defying blend of rock, country and folk. Her most recent album I Can’t Be the One You Want Me to Be was released in 2019.
Breanne Marie & The Front Porch Sinners perform their own brand of music they call “Great Lakes Country.” The group blends traditional pedal steel and fiddle with guitar lines, driving bass and drums which Americana Highways described as “a brilliant blend of 90s indie and country.”

Duluth Does David Bowie
More than two dozen Twin Ports musicians will pay tribute to British rock icon David Bowie performing some of his biggest hits at 7 pm Saturday, January 25.
This one-night-only concert is part of an ongoing tribute series staged at Sacred Heart Music Center twice a year.
Duluth singer-songwriter Misisipi Mike Wolf will host.
Each Northland artist will perform a song from the Bowie catalog, which includes rock classics like “Modern Love,” “Changes,” and “Heroes.” Ground control to Major Tom: “Don’t miss this show!”
All proceeds from this Duluth Does concert goes to support Sacred Heart Music Center programming and maintenance of its historic property.

MRC: Guest Speaker Round II
The Music Resource Center (MRC) is a local after school program located at Sacred Heart Music Center. Breanne will be spoke with students about jingles and theme songs sharing her experience with commercial music compositions. Breanne returns to MRC on December 10th to hear the finished commercial music ideas from students who are preparing to perform them at the Christmas party on December 12th.

This family friendly dinner show will be the most delightful way to spend a holiday evening before you head out to Bentleyville or the Holiday DSSO concert at the DECC. Canal Park will be full of twinkling lights and happy shoppers searching for the perfect gift. Treat yourself to a delicious dinner and live holiday music from Breanne and her special guests which include Evan and Anya Tepler, Kailyn Pelerin and Courtney Ellian. There will be some original songs, non traditional winter/holiday tunes and of course some singalong Christmas classics. 50th & France Summer Concert Series
Enjoy free live music every Friday night this summer at 50th & France! Our beloved concert series is back starting June 7 on the plaza at Nolan Mains, with an all-star lineup curated by singer-songwriter Katy Vernon. Intermissions will feature local student musicians, made possible through an Edina Arts Grant from the City of Edina and the Edina Arts and Culture Commission. New this year, sponsor Edina Liquor will have a beverage garden available. Parking is free in two ramps off Market Street! This is a family-friendly event.
